FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is ashes jewellery?
Ashes jewellery is a way of keeping a small, symbolic amount of a loved one’s ashes close to you. The ashes are carefully incorporated into jewellery pieces such as rings, pendants, or bracelets, creating a personal memorial keepsake.
How do I send the ashes?
After placing your order, we will email you to confirm where you need to send the ashes to. We will also double check any other details of the order, such as if this is a gift, if you would like the ashes hidden or visible and if you have any further questions for us. To send ashes, we recommend using a secure, tracked postal service. Any unused ashes will be respectfully returned with your finished piece.
How much ashes are needed?
Only a very small amount is required, usually less than a teaspoon. This ensures you can keep the remainder safe or use it for other memorial pieces if desired.
Are the ashes visible in the jewellery?
We will reach out once you have ordered to check if you would like the ashes to be visible or hidden. Please note that the only truly opaque colour for our stones is white, so you may be able to see the ashes within the jewellery slightly. We would always send you examples of this before continuing with your order.
Is each piece unique?
Yes. Every piece is handcrafted, meaning no two items are exactly the same. The ashes create natural variations, making each item completely individual and personal.
Can I wear ashes jewellery every day?
Most ashes jewellery is designed for daily wear. However, we recommend avoiding harsh chemicals, heavy impact, and prolonged water exposure to preserve its finish. You will receive bespoke care instructions with your finished memorial piece.
What materials are used?
Our jewellery is typically made using high-quality sterling silver, stainless steel, gold coloured plating, depending on the design. All materials are chosen for durability and comfort. We also make all our our rings using adjustable bands. We do this to ensure a fair price to you and this also allows us to keep our turnaround times low and we guarantee that we will have your loved one on their way back to you within two working days of us receiving their ashes.
If you wanted to have a ring tailored directly to your size instead of an adjustable band, please use the contact page and we will work with you to create a bespoke piece.
Are the ashes safe and secure inside the jewellery?
Yes. The ashes are carefully sealed within the piece using specialist techniques to ensure they remain safe, secure, and protected.
How long does it take to make?
Production times vary, but we are currently able to have your jewellery finished within two working days of receiving your loved one’s ashes. Custom or complex designs may take slightly longer and we will always keep this page updated so please feel free to double check before you order.
Can I return ashes jewellery?
Due to the personalised and sensitive nature of ashes jewellery, returns are generally not accepted unless the item is faulty or damaged.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, international shipping is available. Delivery times and postage costs vary depending on location. We ship for free to all of the UK currently.
Can I use ashes from pets as well as people?
Yes. We create memorial jewellery for both human and pet ashes, allowing you to honour any loved one in a meaningful way. We can also incorporate breast milk or locks of hair, please just contact us with your request and we will be happy to help. As with ashes, anything we don’t use will be carefully returned to you with your finished piece.
